Page 6 - Scoring

Performance (40% of the final score) - this will go pretty much like you're expecting. This unit simply had nothing to score negatively against, here. Voltage stability was excellent - no deduction. Efficiency passed Titanium both times - no deduction. Ripple was INSANELY low, with no trace of the bug early units seemed to have. No deduction. 10.

Functionality (20% of the final score) - the only advantage the EVGA T2 has over this one is the addition of some cable ties and the self test adapter EVGA throws in with every unit. The cable ties would have been nice, but Super Flower almost makes up for that by throwing in a 12 gauge power cord larger than needed to get the job done. Yeah, I need to pull half the accessories point for lacking cable ties or zip ties of some sort. I can't really think of any major compelling reason to take any other points, though. Semi-fanless mode works well, the cables are as good as you get with the EVGA unit, you can plug in fourteen PCI-E connectors at the same time, and you can get them in black or white. 9.5.

Value (20% of the final score) - 349.90 Euro gets you one of these at Caseking.de. That's about $384.33 US dollars. The only competition there is the Corsair AX1500i for a lot more money. An easy 10 here... there's no real competition, except perhaps the EVGA version. Buy whichever is cheaper.

Build Quality (20% of the final score) - perfect this time out. 10.

Summary

Once again, Super Flower has a real winner with the Leadex platform. We've seen it consistently perform at or near the very best units to come through the lab, and it has yet to make even a single hint of a misstep. Unless you count the obviously solved ripple interference issue the early 1600W units had, that is. This platform is in huge demand worldwide now, and it's not hard to see why. If you can find one in stock, buy it.

The Good:

  • outstanding ripple control on all rails
  • excellent voltage stability on all rails
  • no more ripple bug
  • gigantic power cord
  • fully modular
  • semi-fanless mode

The Bad:

  • zippo

The Mediocre:

  • I could have really used three more of these... to, ah... make sure the power cord is the same size in all the boxes... and that all those boxes have corners... yeah, that's it...
