Performance (40% of the final score) - and now to do some scoring. Folks, this may be the best X series unit I've tested yet. Voltage readings so solid you couldn't budge them with a Peterbilt. Ripple results so low an ant couldn't trip over the waveforms. And to top it all off, you have that Gold level efficiency, a fan that turns off when not needed, and complete indifference to high temperatures. I have to do a 10 here.
Functionality (20% of the final score) - no complaints here. This unit is fully modular, semi fanless, has lots of connectors for a 560W unit, and comes with enough accessories to make anybody happy. I'm going to do another 10.
Value (30% of the final score) - this unit retails for $129.99 at Newegg as I type this. Ouch. This unit effectively competes against a fair few 600W+ units at this price, not the least of which is Seasonic's current X-650. I'd like to see the price slide a bit. 7.
Aesthetics (10% of the final score) - it looks exactly like an X-400, so it gets the same score. 9.
The X-560 represents yet another successfully designed product from Seasonic's X series line. It's efficient, it's extremely stable, and it's very quiet. If you're in the market for a semi-fanless unit around this size, the X-560 really deserves a good long look.
fanless at low loads
ripple? What ripple?
stable, stable, stable, stable, stable voltages
turn on spike suppression still needs a little work
a little expensive for the size
