When last we saw Rosewill, they were turning heads with their Quark series of units. I tested one of those units, and it turned out to be rather good. Now, Rosewill's reinvigorating their Capstone line of units and calling them the Capstone G series. I have the 1200 watt version of these new units right in front of me now, and I'm going to check it out.
Just about a month ago, Corsair came barging in here with one whopper of a good unit in the RM1000x. It was a power supply so good I couldn't find one thing to complain about, and as a result Corsair walked out the door with only their second perfect total score ever. Now, I'm looking at the RM750i. Can Corsair do it again?
Few power supply companies have been as active as EVGA has been lately. I've almost lost count of how many EVGA units I have reviewed this year alone. Well, it's time for one more. Meet the brand new GQ series 850W.
Now, here's a name we don't see anywhere near often enough here in the lab. BeQuiet is in the house today with their brand new Dark Power Pro 11 1200W model... this bad boy is a semi-modular 80 Plus Platinum beast of a unit that promises to put out a ton of power without making a lot of noise doing so. I always enjoy looking at units from this company, because they're one of the few companies out there really making an effort to stand apart from the crowd. Let's see what this unit's all about.
Corsair's been in the power supply business for quite a few years now. Lately, some have charged that they have lost their way in the marketplace, offering units that cost more than the competition and offer less performance. Corsair's never been a company to back down from this kind of criticism, and as proof they have come to me with a brand new unit called the RM1000x. This is a tweaked version of the 80 Plus Gold RM series, and it makes some pretty bold promises. Let's see what this unit has to offer.
A few months ago, Andyson made quite a splash here in my lab when I tested the Platinum R 1200W unit and found it to be all kinds of awesome. Another bombshell arrived in the form of the N700, still the only 80 Plus Titanium unit I've had my hands on under 1kW in size. And that unit was awesome too. Let's find out for sure if Andyson's really got something going now... I have their Platinum R 850W on the bench and some sky high expectations. You get the popcorn, I'll start the load testers.
It's been a little while since we last saw a Silverstone unit come to the lab, but the wait is now over. Recently, Silverstone refreshed their ST75F-GS unit by cramming the same number of jiggawatts into a housing even smaller than the previous version did. Let's find out how it performs.
Not too long ago, we looked at an exciting update to the RM series of units that added Corsair Link functionality to the line. Today, I'm looking at the 650 watt variant of the new RMi platform, with high expectations indeed.
We're going back to the EVGA product catalog today again with a look at the Supernova P2 850W. Introduced a while back with the 1600 watt monster and its slightly smaller 1200W and 1000W brothers, EVGA is finally beginning to extend the line downward with some smaller units. Let's see if the performance remains fantastic.
