USB 3.0 is here to stay, it’s not going anywhere, and it is the future of portable storage as we know it. It’s fast, much faster than UBS 2.0 will ever be and I can tell you that it is well worth it when transferring large amounts of data or large sized files. If you’ve ever tried to transfer large video files or a lot of smaller files via USB 2.0 then you know it’s best to start the process and just walk away as it’s going to be quite a while. With USB 3.0 that long wait is no longer.
I've never actually thought that RAM ran hot enough to actually require active cooling. Furthermore, at a price of around $20, it's actually more expensive than the Thermaltake Spirit RS passive cooler I use in one of my machines. So why bother with the CoolIT RAM Fan?
