Clicky, it did really well apart from the poor ripple/noise suppression on the minor rails (ChipHell got better results there), I think Crmaris was somewhat harsh in scoring this unit.

Direct comparison with full ATX PSUs in the same price range are to blame, I think.
Bearing in mind that this will go into mATX/mITX cases/systems, I can't see it being driven above 300W at any time (mostly because of the chassis heat dissipation capability and space constraints). While this should not be a basis for loosening the scoring criteria, it does offset the ripple/noise suppression performance somewhat. A fair showing from Silverstone and Enhance.

I'd agree, he's a bit hard on the unit.
Still a good review though. |

Yep I too would agree, this thing deserved a bit better grade.
After all there really are no other units in this class and this one is looking really good. The only thing that might use some upgrade is the fan regulation ... those 3000+ RPM do sound rather high for a Gold unit. |

The voltage seems pretty good but it seems to fail 80plus gold, even with 230VAC...
And the fan seems to be a really bad joke... |

Cmaris ran into this with FSP's Aurum platform before, even though every 115vAC reviewer cleared them for gold. |

Cooling and noise are still the limiting factors for a strong, compact PSU.
I think ST55FG/ST65FG/ST60FPS have been announced for a while. Is there any info on those units?

ST60F-PS is Sirfa. It's based on the new HPB-600GD-F12S (C)
No other info on it besides price & the stuff supplied by Silverstone. The same for the ST55F-G & ST65F-G, we know they're Enhance's ATX-0750 & ATX-0760 No reviews have dropped on them yet. I know Tazz teased that he's got the SFX 450w unit to review, but I don't know if either of the other units made their way here. |

up to a certain load level (low) indeed efficiency with 230VAC is lower than 115VAC input.

I've got the ST45SF-G in the to be written pile, and another Silverstone (lower grade) in a to be tested pile. The Wolfmister has a few Silverstone products in his pile as well.
