I'm looking for a sata power cable with multiple power plugs (hopefully 6, but 4 or even 3 will do it), without 8 inches of cable between the plugs, with all the plugs at a right angle, powered with a molex power connector, similar to this (without all the bling bling)
![]() or this: ![]() You would think this is easier than it really is, right ? It isn't. I can only seem to find: - single molex to single straight sata power - single molex to two straight sata power (with a good 8" of cable between them) - single molex to single right angle sata power - single molex to single straight and single right angle sata power (in the least usable configuration of right angle at the end, straight in the middle) - dual molex to single straight sata power (what is the point of this) - single sata male to four right angle sata power (with basically no gaps in between) - single sata male to three right angle sata power (with basically no gaps in between) - single molex to single right angle sata power and single molex - single molex to single straight sata power and single molex - single molex with y-cable to two straight sata power - single molex with y-cable to two right angle sata power - single molex to two right angle sata power, with the one at the end mounted backwards - single molex to combination sata power and data cable - dual molex to combination sata power and data cable - single molex to two straight sata power (with a good 12" of cable between them) etc. In other words, everything except what I'm looking for. Know anywhere with this mythical cable ? Or, if I were to make one of these magical cables, would a single molex be enough to safely do this, for 6 connectors ? It's for my server: Sandy bridge celeron cheapo msi board 8gb ram dell perc 5i card (soon to be upgraded to a 3ware 9650se-8lpml) Antec Neo Eco 450 (34a +12v) 1x wd blue 160gb 2.5" OS drive (soon to be upgraded to an ssd of some sort) 3x hitachi 7k3000 2tb 1x seagate st3000dm1 3tb 1x seagate st1000 something 1tb antec three hundred two case currently using all 5 of the sata power connectors and a molex to sata for the OS drive. huge runs of cable between each sata connector, so lead 1 is going drive1-drive6-drive3 and lead 2 is going drive2-drive4 |

Of course as soon as I post this I instantly find a few of them:
1 molex to 3 right angle sata for $17 + $20.66 shipping ( + possible UPS brokerage, so $20 + $2.04-2.18) = $37.66-$62.18 1 molex to 4 right angle sata for $20 + $20.66 shipping ( + UPS brokerage, so $20 + $3.15-$5.54 = $43.81-$65.54 Of course, paying $65.54 for a single cable is absurd. especially considering two single molex to dual straight sata power is $1.97 shipped. |

Buy a handful of connectors and modify your existing cables

the silverstone one looks pretty promising though, hmmm Maybe i'll just pick up a few of the 1 molex to 2 right-angle sata and some molex y-cables think there is enough grounding in those to do it safely ? |
