It's a mistake, the combined 12v output is 1440W.

The PSU casing is needlessly large for this unit, as it is for the entire M2 line... that row of holdup caps looks pretty hardcore though.

I'm actually expecting some great things from that unit.

Internally it looks a lot like the Silent Pro Hybrid 1300, which did excellent in TT's tests. Even if the M2 1500 performs the same or even slightly better(despite the higher output) it's still an inferior product, with only 6x PCIe connectors, partial modularity and a casing 30mm longer than it needs to be.

I'll agree, the 6 PCIe cables is a big hamper in terms of functionality, but the unit's length isn't really an issue.

Most cases running a system that could use it's level of power have enough room to accommodate.

Either way, the unit looks a lot more beefy that Silent Pro Hybrid did. And thankfully it's not fully modular; so the 3.3v vreg should be much better.

Oh c'mon, it doesn't need a fixed 24pin cable to offer good 3.3v regulation, no faith in Enhance?

No faith in Cooler Master.

Enhance has shown they can post solid Vreg on a fully modular unit (Silverstone Strider 1500w as an example.)

Cooler Master's Silent Pro Hybrid 1300w (I think on Playwares review?) showed the 3.3v Vreg to be sitting at 3.16v at a load around 15A (for the 100% load on progressive testing.)

That's kinda awful.

The SilentPro Hybridg 1050w was showing a reading of 3.17v w/ a 10A load during the 100% load test.
While the similar Silent Pro Gold 1200w at least held up with a 3.28v rating with a 10A loading during the 100% load test.

So first impressions based on designs & known factors lead me to believe that the hard-wired 24pin is a good thing for that unit.

EDIT: 12 PCIe cables is far better news.

Can't argue with that, strange how they managed to mess the design/implementation at this level.. fantastic memory btw.

Still six PCIe connectors though.

Its a big mess. G.I. Joe probably knows the details better. But the actual patent on using those DIN connectors belongs to Topower.
I think SuperFlower has also a clone patent on those connectors.

T & T are/were mostly same money, but different companies.

I don't think Cooler Master knows how many PCIe cables the unit has.
The image which shows 960w on the 12v rails also says 6 PCIe cables; but I thinks someone did a copy-pasta error from the M2 1000w

Like wise, if you scroll down on the page; it says six 6+2pin cables and six 8pin cables. For a total of 12.
So that could be 3 cables hard-wired and 3 cables on the modular side of things.
