Great unit with NCC's instead of CapXon's in the LZG-750. One of the best in it's wattage range. Shame that I can't find myself suggesting a Rosewill unless someone else does though. An Andyson, Topower etc. they sound good if the unit is also good. But Rosewill... it's a brand some people are still leary of.

The LZG-1000 has CapXon's in it, but the LZG-850 has NCC's. Great review as always Wolf, and I do agree with you an Jonny; modular should become the standard. At least on the 700w & up guys. A 400-550w non-modular unit is not that hard to deal with, but once you start having 9-12 SATA connectors, 6-9 Molex, and 4 PCIe cables, you're running out of room to hide things.

Yeah, that's what I meant (without sleep). I remember seeing CapXon's in the 850 or 700W version though (not the kW, that's usual for it).
It'd have been better if they used poly's (ripple wise), however SF only does it on bigger Golden Green's. |

What's with the pictures? JPG compression seems to be way too high.

Mr. Fuji is fine. He takes all these pictures at his highest settings. Mr. Paint Shop Pro OTOH was set up with higher compression for my other job.

I'm having a second look and this is a lot of PSU for $120.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817182073 This unit gives great performance, has brute looks... if I hadn't gotten a PowerBird, this probably is what I'd have bought for my other system (285 SLi). Just wish SuperFlower was a little more super about build quality and reduced that ripple with solid Nippon PSC's or better yet Sanyo's rather than the old KZE's. How hard would it be to recap this thing? I got my iron and an IPC 610 certification years ago... have recapped a Real Power Pro (it crapped out though lol). |
