I guess that is the confusion between SPI and Sparkle Computer....

Yep that's possible. Too bad it leads to SCC, which leads to Great Wall. Not quite the same as SPI \

Edit: On second look, looks like he did refer to SCC, but he refers to them as the manufacturer.

Hopefully that changes soon; it's a big mistake.

For costing more than AX850, all it deserves is "meh".

Ya it's pretty clear even in the comparison hardwaresecrets stated against the X-850, that this is an inferior psu. It would have to be at least $30 cheaper than the X-850 to make sense as a consideration.

Most interesting point is:
Quote:
Diablotek will also release a power supply based on the same unit, the PDAX-850GW.
I wonder what that will kill when it gets to Wolfie's place...

I sense power meters running for the hills..

Edit: And what in the heck is this damned silly trend for not fitting MOVs in what claim to be high end power supplies????????
Second edit: And how did this get a gold award? Sheesh, it should be dinged a bit for the high price and lack of MOV, same price as an X850? Only one winner there...

PDAX-850GW.
850W GreatWall? It will probably become 2 kW Diablotek in the process.

We really should drop Gabe an e-mail or two... He did get a bit annoyed about our ranting here last time, and probably rightfully so.

That being said, this PSU is HS.com bronze award material at the most. No MOV, CapXon, mediocre 12V ripple (in it's class), efficiency, price.
