coolmax cu-500b "modular" psu. i was stupid enough back when that i gave it a 5egg review on newegg. however, its never given me any problems. selling on craiglsit for $30...
looks like solytech/deer to me. but it seems a decent psu...

That cu-500b is a copy of the RSY units that most of the lower wattage Ultra LS series are. Thats about all Longyi does, copy other platforms. Tommade also makes a copy of that same RSY model.

The RSY build LS Series PSU's were pretty much junk. SO I wouldn't expect anything out of that unit itself.

LongYi is a cheap chinese knock-off from all I've seen of them.

I have a Coolmax cu-500b non modular and a Ultra LS 400W. They are basically identical, but the coolmax actually has some improvements. The Longyi built coolmax decided to put 3 filtering capacitors on the 12v rail, where as the RSY built Ultra only had two. The Longyi also has provisions for two coils in the transient filter, where as the RSY only has one.
