Default Corsair Explores Lynnfield and P55 Express

From the article:
Quote:
This means that Intel users can now harness the power of Core i7 in a more cost effective manner while not sacrificing performance. The new Lynnfield and P55 based systems are proving to be very powerful and feature rich based upon our testing. The system featured here proved itself to be an excellent system for all tasks put before it at the stock settings. And, the performance gets better as the system is also a very solid overclocking unit. With a minimum of tweaking we took our stock 2.8GHZ system to almost 4GHZ and saw some performance increases approaching 50%.

Hell yeah it is. Makes my Lian Li Rocketfish full tower look small...

No, I don't have case envy, either.

it makes that carbon-fibre monstrosity that Jonny helped design for Ultra look like a cereal box.

Is that a full ATX in there?

Yes. One of the last commincations I had with Dave Hammock before he disappeared from the web was how a major brand single +12V rail PSU wasn't shutting down when shorted. We were literally arc welding with the PSU. Hopefully Dave's absense isn't due to the fact that he got over zealous with the welding.

Thumbs up EXCELLENT!

GREAT guide, great pics, descriptions & instructions! Fantastic & VERY WELL DONE!

One question, on mounting the WC radiator, there is a red arrow pointing in to the case, is it intended that this be used as an air intake, instead of the traditional exhaust?

One request, please post this over at EOC, Extreme Overclocking Forum, or I would be happy to do so.

Great Job!
Dave

The H50 cooler is meant to take in fresh air from the back of the case and pass it through the radiator.

I believe that you are right, but why not pull air from inside the case & exhaust it like we usually do with rear fans?
