Default Corsair 400CX vs 450VX sound level

Hiyas. I've got a low power draw server type computer that is currently using a 450VX, it was the lowest priced good quality low/moderate power PSU I could find at the time. Now Corsair has come out with the 400CX which would still be plenty of power, and might run at higher efficiency assuming the efficiecy curves are the same. The only thing that I'm not 100% happy with on the 450VX is the sound level - some people call it silent but it's not to me, I wasn't going to drop $200 on a Silverstone Nightjar though

Soo...would the 400CX likely be quieter in operation? I can't find detailed reviews stating the type of fan used.

Its a 120mm ADDA. It very well maybe the same one from the 450VX, I would have to look and see.

Wow, VX 450w isn't UNIVERSALLY considered silent for a fanned PSU ? I mean if the fan or fan controller is working fine, and the load is within its best sound characteristic -low to 60% rated capacity, complaining its sound level must be related to a very sensitive hearing person, since the unit is among the most silent in its class.

Hehe, I've even seen people complain about Enermax Pro/Modu82s being noisy, so I dunno. Yeah, it probably depends on how sensitive ears one's got.

Hmm, so, while Corsair VX 450w is a conservatively rated Antec EA500, is Corsair CX 400w an aggresively rated Antec EA380 ?
