Default Enermax Pro82+ 625W Review

by SKYMTL.
Quote:
Pros:

- Good performance
- Extremely quiet at all loads
- 80Plus certification
- RMA stays within Canada

Cons:

- PCI-E cables sleeved together
- Glossy black finish is prone to fingerprints and scratches
Thanks SKYMTL. I was very curious about Pro82+ because they just arrived in my country and they're roughly at same price as Corsair PSU's.
Now we have a contender here for Corsair PSU's.

It is a good PSU and VERY quiet but I would pick the Corsair HX620 over it if it was the same price just because of the ridiculous layout of the PCI-E cables.

I'm actually surprised because here the Corsair HX620 is about $150 before mail in rebate versus $120 for the Pro82+ 625W.

Yeah, Enermax have never been good with cables, let's not forget their famous "Eternity cable", which probably can't be used into a MiniTower case, it sure can't be used into a MidiTower

No, it's Eternity. It's that cable with both Molex and S-ATA connectors. It's got a sleeved part of about 55cm and the four connectors are distributed over the next 20cm.
You may be able to use it if all your drives are next to each other, but I'd like to see anybody powering an IDE optical drive that's on top of the case and a S-ATA hard drive that at the middle with this thing
In every review I've read, that cable is listed as a con

SKY: If possible, in future reviews could you also take a picture of the fan? It'd be pretty useful to have that.

Will do. You mean the inner fan hub which shows the product number of the fan itself, correct?

The fan was submited by Enermax for UL aproval if that is what you are looking for. I have a section on it in my MODU82+ review coming up.

Yep, the label SKY. It's always nice to have a look at the fan, in any case.

I wonder if Enermax makes this one by themselves as well. If I recall .. I believe it's a Globe Fan "Silence" ?

When I asked Enermax said they made it. They do make some fans...this one not sure. But it is also a bivoltage fan not a PWM.
