Stumbled upon these at the Acbel webbie.

I8power 570

Output power 470w
Max power 570w (Allows overclocking of 100w?)
And 700K hrs MTBF?

Actually, I believe that means it belongs to Max Power. The man whose name you'd love to touch... but you mustn't touch.

The MTBF is just a statitstical figure with more or less no value. The MTBF is often given at a temperature of 25 Celsius. It doesnt matter if it's 100K hours or 700K hours. They can say the MTBF is 1000K hours, it makes no difference.

Thx for the info mate, appreciated. Judging from those data sheets, do they tell us that these units can go for the max rated output CONTINUOUSLY if the ambient operating temperature stays at 25 c ? I take that the ambient temp is the PSU operating temp, not the room temp, correct ?

I think the distro just wanted to make the point that these units are capable of running their max wattages and the rails within the 5% range of deflection.

Wonder what values the rails actually start out with..

And from the way their 80plus report looks, efficiency is going to suffer when you erm 'overclock' em.

Just FYI, the E2 470w unit is sold in my country for less than 42 US$ -sometime, MUCH less, in OEM package, with supposedly lifetime warranty. Compared to the box package version sold in your country, which is priced around, hmm, 57 US$ (?) & has 5 yrs warranty, then this unit should be the consensus best buy if we compare it to, say, FSP based 400w units like the Saga or other type from other vendors, such as Aopen Prima Power 400w or Silverstone Strider ST40F, correct ?
