Default Corsair TX750 at Hardware secrets

Gabe's take here:-
http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/505/5

Wolf and Madmat's review here:-
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php...Story2&reid=73

No surprises, Gabe's results closely match Wolf and Matt's.

I do think there is a bit of probe noise in there along with the PSU noise. I wish he had expanded the timescale a bit.

I must say Corsair have a sure shot best in its class type winner if they can get the ripple under control. Very conservatively rated unit. I do wish Gabe would post numbers that show how well the unit regulates instead of just saying "PASS".

Red,
Something tells me you knew about this already.

Do your engineers know about the minor electrical-noise thing? Are we gonna see a new revision sometime soon?

We are going to start issuing ear plugs with each PSU

I wish Corsair would come out with a 750-850 Watt modular model. I would say I wish it would be built by Seasonic, but the CWT models seem to be giving the Seasonic models a run for their money.

I've believe Redbeard has tipped us that a 1000W modular unit is out in about a month.

Seasonic doesn't have anything over 700W at 50C at US Voltages. The PC P&C Silencer 750W is only 40C, and the "900W" that I've seen around is 240V only if I remember right.

We could modify their design, but by the time we ended up doing that it'd be more expensive and probably not as good as the CWT designs are. The 750W unit has a bit higher electrical noise than we'd like, but it's not an HX series product. TX and VX were designed to be very price competitive and very quiet, the pricing is the reason they were not made modular.

As to a Modular 750-850, well, this is kind of embarassing - we've run out of colors. Blue, Green, Orange, Yellow, Red - there just aren't anymore good colors. Purple and Pink don't really sell to our market well, teal is to San Jose Sharks-like, and Fuscia - hell, I'm not even sure what Fuscia is.

So we've got some guys working on a new spectrum of light or two. This should allow us to expand our range into various color spectrums that our competitors don't currently offer.

Seriously though, we've got it under advisement that there has to be something between a 620W Modular and a 1000W Modular. That's 380W of potential market right there.

How can anything be "too San Jose Sharks-like"?? They have the coolest logo in the NHL!

PS: And #4 in the Western Conference.

never you worry, when I have downtime and I am just hanging out with nothing else to do, I try to think up some more secondary colors you can use for your PSUs...when I blow your mind with my possibilities and the fact that I clued you in to a market for a 700+ Watt Modular PSU, I will be expecting some compensation, perhaps a position even.

How bout you change the color of your PSU housing to Grey/silver and use a dark blue badge....I actually think Purple may sell well with the Pimp gamers.
