Leave it to fan boys to de-rail the conversation too.

Ignorance is bliss I guess.

But yeah... that unit didn't do too well it seems.

This is quote from the review not me....

If you are looking for a good 750w power supply the Ultra X2 750w Extreme Edition is not it. Even if you are looking for a good 500w power supply, the Ultra X2 750w Extreme Edition is not it. Even at its current price of $99.99, this is one power supply you will want to stay away from.

Seeing a product this terrible makes us question Ultra as a whole as well as its NVIDIA SLI certification. Why would Ultra even present this to the enthusiast community? How did this unit get SLI certification? We know exactly how NVIDIA qualifies power supplies for its SLI cert program, and the units that we had in hand would NOT pass NVIDIA muster. We hope to see NVIDIA pull its SLI certification from this product immediately. And that begs the question, did the unit even earn it, or did the SLI badge just accidentally appear on the box? Who is going to pay when expensive computer equipment gets damaged? I mean besides the poor unknowing bastard that got sold an Ultra X2 750w Extreme Edition in the first place…

Updated 02060 at 10:53am: As per Bryan Del Rizzo at NVIDIA - The Ultra X2 Extreme Edition 750w Power Supply that you reviewed has not been submitted for SLI Certification. Therefore, it is not a certified SLI-Ready power supply and is not listed on SLIZone.

On occasion, vendors put logos on boxes without first ensuring it meets all the criteria to be certified SLI-Ready. We will contact Ultra Products and make sure they remove the SLI-Ready logo on their website and boxes in order to not mislead consumers.

Yeah, seems just like the original Ultra's of yore, when Tiger Direct was giving them away with $50 cases.

Damn, now I'm really worried about the LSP750W that I just picked up.
Really should've jumped onto the CoolerMaster RP850W for ~$45 after rebate deal a few weeks back.

Yes, it looks like Ultra is going back to their roots, serving steaming piles of turds for psu's again.

Makes me glad I've never recommended an Ultra psu now, even the ones that have done well in reviews here and at the [H].

Wow, been a while since I've seen a load test failure at such a low (relative to "rating") output.

Hey, how about another crappy PSU roundup?
