A grandma of a friend wants me to put a video card in her system so her grandkids can play games on it. The problem is its not much of a system or if the ps could even take it. Specs: 2.93 celeron processor, 1 cd 1 dvd burner, 1 hardrive, 1 floppy, and the ps 250w 3.3 16a, 5v 25a, and a whopping 9a on the 12v and 256megs of ram running xp. Now i'm sure i could find her a video card (agp) but could the ps even handle one? I'm thinking maybe just giving her a 512meg stick of ram and saying thats about the best i can do. But if you guys think it could handle a vc i'll give it a shot.

Not anything really graphic intense, more like kid games under the age of 8. I did see a 'Cars' video game sitting there. Haven't looked at the specs for that game yet.

System: Pentiu8m 3 800MHz or equivalent
RAM: 256 MB Video Memory: 32 MB Hard Drive Space: 500 MB Other: 16 bit DirectX9 Soundcard Thats the specs for the PC version of Cars.. So I wouldnt think it would take much. Might give it a try with a low to middle end card and see what happens. |
