Default Watts, Rails, and confused Please help

I'm glad I found this site, a great resource of knowledge and facts. I'm in the process of finshing my new system. Here is my componets.
680i Sli MB
q6600 cpu new stepping
8800 ultru video card
2 150 gig. raptors WDHD, 2 320gig WDHD
2 DVD burners
4 1 gig sticks of 1067 ram
Antec 900 case
4 120 cm led fans
1 250 cm fans
1 fd drive
2 usb powered devices

I enjoy tweaking my computer, overclocking any and all parts of it. I do not mind paying for quality but I am value minded. I would like to purchase a quality power supply that will serve me well in the near future and allow for growth and ugrades and near future standards. I do like tweaking my computer to the edge of stability. I also feel based on what I've read that this is not a wise practice with power supplies and would like to get something that would provide clean relaible power to a highly over clocked system at about 50% of the ps capacity.

Its been great learning from all who contribute, thaks for all the time and work.

I did before posting. I tried Antecs ps calculator and it says 1380 watts. Is this right?

Not possible.

I didn't see a question mark in your OP so I wasn't sure if you were asking a particular question. If you're asking about how much power you need, have a look at the experiment I did with SLI and power consumption. Even a PAIR of Ultra's on a 680i board with a 6800 only managed to use 636W. Doubt you would need twice that for a single Ultra card.

you could easily get by with a single +12V rail 600W or 600W with four or more +12V rails.

No. You probably made the same mistake most people do with this calculator. You should choose single CPU system then a quad core cpu. Instead you probably chose a four-way CPU system and calculated power requirement for a 16-core machine.

mp666, You nailed it I re did the thing and now it suggests 668watts with no overclocking. Now with the cpu clocked to 3600 and 1.6 volts it suggests 816 watts. This is with the cap set at 30% and 90% load. Now this makes since.

1. Will the Antec trio 650 watt ps will do if I don't over clock? ( I have one of these)
2. If I over clock then 850 watt ps? (I like the single rail concept)
3. This is based on 90% load in the calculator, should I buy a larger ps so it runs in the 50 to 60 % load range? ( Say 1000 watt ps)

As you have a SLI board you can add another ultra in future, add overclocking to this and going a little bit overkill can be justified. This for example :

However I believe you'll be fine with a high end 850W or even less.
