Hallo there;
Did annyone know if there is any current-flow on the alu-cooler-fins in the Thermaltake 1000W ? I am thinking about to run it on water with a verry simple ,,construction,, (Copper-plate with copper-tube bent in a U shape) However there are in the past suppley,s with current on the fins (Don,t know wy there was) So before buying the supp i am better be sure that this 1000w have not any current on the cooling-fins. The reason that i am want add the supp in the water-stream is becouse i am VERRY happy with the watercooled supp that i am running right now. (Enermax 465) Evrething else is watercooled too so i am hearing reely nothing. So i dont want to hear my new supp. either. But.....for my new rig the enermax have not the power i am need right now to oc the rigg. Sry for the poor english... Looking forward to hear something Groetje,s Oranje

This thread will be worth the read http://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1723
Note: There should be some air flow to help cool all the pcb mounted componets.

Military field comps are cooled by a coolent that is sprayed on everything.
Or so I was told by one of the execs from Enhance. There is alot offered in the badcaps thread, so please do read it.

I would position the PSU so that it sucks in cool air, i.e. is not part of the PC's air-stream
That way the fan in it will barley spin at all, atleast if you choose a PSU recommended at SPCR like a Seasonic S12... I use a Lian-Li PC6277, with it you can choose to either orient the PSU the normal way or upside down so it only sucks cool air... I did that, and also changed the direction of the fan in my Seasonic S12 430w PSU. The fan is very very quiet, my water pump and fans for the radiator make much more noise (Laing DDC+ 12v and Enermax 120mm Real silent case fans 2x..) |
