Unhappy Help with selection?

I read all the stickys hoping to clear some things up, and it partially did. Problem is, is that all the recommended psu's for under $150 are dubbed

"not necessarily G80 or R600 and up"

Which kinda screws me over. Seeing is that i was planning to go sli with two gtx's in the future, but will defiantly use one for now.

I dont like making noobish posts like this, but I dont trust my new found knowledge to pick out something that may or may not work in the future.

8800 gtx SLI
EVGA 680i
10k raptor
4x1 gigs of ram @1066
1 optical drive.
inexpensive sound card
E6750 (1333 fsb)
40W pump
~5 fans

Mild O/c. Not trying to do benches or what not, just increase performance.

I would like it to be modular, quite, and have a dark red or black sleeving.
Theres a good chance ill paint the casing, so color doesnt matter to me. Although the sleeving could be done, it just seems like a hassle

So any suggestions to what would be good for me @ 150 or under would be much appreciated.

Right now the only psu i have in mind is the ANTEC TruePower Quattro 850W
Even though its only partially modular, but at 139.99 it seems like a great deal.

you want to spend over $600 for your video cards, but aren't willing to spend money to provide power to them?

If I were you, I'd increase my budget and get at least an Ultra X3 800w.

Yes, indeed, I have to agree with him without being unkind about it. If you can afford to get such 133t hardware and have such a rich taste, you need to be willing to get a supply comensurate for the task, not being willing to is, well, weak. It isn't necessarily a simple power issue, it is a quality issue and clean power issue.

You need to understand that it costs money to make a supply with low ripple, great regulation, APFC, and so on. Such supplies have significantly more expensive parts in them, but there is a reason why.

Sorry, but don't build an 133t system if you aren't willing to power it properly, don't throw pearls before swine...
