Default Antec earthwatts EA380

CompUSA has them for $35 (see my Hot Deals post). The EA500 seems to have gotten a decent review from Jonnyguru, but I don't see any reviews on the EA380. Might it be a safe buy for $35 plus tax to power low end builds? Anyone use these? Who's the OEM?

No. Only the True Power Quattro's are Enhance.

Everything else "current" except for the Basiq, which is FSP, is made by Seasonic.

Are there identical Seasonic clones of Earthwatts they sell on their own?

For 35 it isn't a bad deal per se.

not a bad deal at all.

Most people are caught up into the whole "OMG I NEED 1KW for my _INSERT A BUNCH OF STUFF HERE".

I have 2 T7K250 HDD's, 965 Intel mobo, 4GB ram, firewire, usb flash for readyboost, lost of USB crap and a E4500 2.2GHz core 2 duo and I use a big huge ~58 watts at idle FROM THE WALL.

If I plug in my ATI X1900XTX instead of using integrated graphics, I push power consumption to 89W at idle (FROM WALL) to 190W with core 2 duo and GPU and ram FULLY loaded.

Still have lots of room to spare.

That seems a tad off, since guru3d found the 1900xtx idles at 165 watts and loads to 290 watts. 13.75 amps and ~21 amps respectively.

And if I remember correctly the 4400 OCed to 2.2GHz used 72 watts at full load. 6 amps.

Probably it was all system measured. A X1900XTX don't draw 21A in full-load.
