In a couple months I hope to get another supply, but this one will be for a special purpse: To go overseas to The Philippines Islands to my family there. Now I have been enjoying the wonderful supply that Jonny sold me immensly, I have peace/piece (which is it???) of mind now, as my room doesn't have AC, though when it gets hot enough I still shut down the system.
Anyways, the supply for this other system I am very slowly putting together will need to be active PFC because the voltage used over there is 220 I believe, plus I will need help finding the correct wall cord from somewhere, and since I don't know what that connection is called, any help is appreciated! It is very humid and quite hot where my family lives, they live very close to the ocean, and, sadly, sometimes it floods there during the rainy/monsoon season, which happens to be now. The supply won't have too much demand on it, probably 2 hard drives, maybe 3 down the road, no more than 4-8 USB devices and 1 firewire if that, the motherboard is a socket 754 based unit and a sempron and 2 sticks of RAM (Might get a third at some point, who knows). Whatever case I end up choosing, it will have as many large fans as is reasonably possible on it (at least 1 front, 1 rear, and pref. 2 side and even a top fan) but it won't be an expensive case, hopefully less than $80 max. I am going to be adding a high performance CPU HS/F with a large fan. Right now I have a 9800 for this system and later it will upgrade to another AGP card of more power when I get a compelling enough deal. I will ship new parts to them and she can have her cousin that knows computers put it in. As many of you know, I live on a pauper's budget, but my poor wife and kid are stuck with the internet cafe right now (computers sell for about 3-4 times what they do here, prices are outragious and the hardware is 2-4 years out of date compared to here in the USofA) and the cost is a hardship plus she has to deal with waiting lists/lines/no availablity all the time. She did have a system we were paying on but we returned it because the computer was crap and way too expensive (she didn't comfirm with me before doing the deal, she learned a small lesson there) and some things came up where we diverted money for health emergencies. I have a physical disability so I can't rush back to work as soon as I was hoping so I have to scrap up the change to get this supply. I have been fortunate, in spite all of the things that have broken on my own system, that people such as our site host here have been very kind in giving me very square deals, very very good deals. One day I hope to be just as good to folks myself. I consider myself very lucky that, on my paltry budget, to have an actual SLI motherboard, a nice new 7950GT (it's a warranty replacement that the seller of a used card to me got for me, bless him and EVGA!), some great RAM, and a dual core CPU as you can see in my sig. It took a lot of time, help from friends and family and kind people online, for me to get my system together, and bless them all. But my precious stepson, who I am struggling to put through "private" school because public schools are terrible there, needs more and better access to a computer with software HE wants/needs to have. The computer cafe owner that just took over their neighborhood location isn't a very nice natured person, so we can't do what is needed on their systems. So I need a supply that is rated at least 40 d C, will have plenty of 4 pin Molex connectors for 3 HDs, 1 OD, 5 fans, 1 CCFL (hey, it's for my kid), and one for the 9800 card. It will need to have 1 PCI-Ex connector so when we are ready to sell the system I can send a better motherboard and parts and they can reuse the supply for a future system. It would be best if it had at least 2 SATA but no need for more than 4. It would be nice if it is a VERY dependable supply because any supply with a higher failure rate will mean me seeing more expense shipping yet another supply to my wife. So high power isn't quite as important as a supply that has APFC (so that there is NO accident with any voltage switch AND so that it can handle the frequent brownouts there, and so on, has good fans on it, and is rated for high heat and hopefully can handle the moist air where she lives. Moist air? Have you ever been to Houston, TX? It's like that, in the summer, except doesn't get quite as hot as the hottest Houston gets. But it is very warm to hot all year round, and many evenings are balmy. Some of these parts I have were given to me by people who do cancer/disease products because they are dear, kind, friends, so I am part of the way to piece mealing this together. I was looking at some of the Ultras that Tiger sells, and know our leader here has something to do with them so I am sure they are pretty good, but I don't suppose they are rated at 40-50 d C, are they, and I don't know if any of the ones I looked at were APFC off hand. I will be paying for this in part with what little money I get after I sell the replacement supply I get from Antec for the one that blew, I can't send the bad one in yet for certain reasons (money and timing, I have to go somewhere for a while in a couple of weeks). As I have had two Antecs blow, each from different OEMs I believe, I just want to steer clear of them. Sure, I am probably not being rational, the one that just blew is a Seasonic OEM since it is a trio, right? Would you believe I think it could just be, err, a curse (my wife must be rubbing off on me, she is superstitious, I never was but I am getting that way, heh: Like me wanting to get a 14 gauge supply cord for a supply that won't draw anywhere's near the current to necessitate it, but I am so paranoid after so many parts failing lately). Sorry for the long post, just trying to give the info that you might want ahead of time anyways to help you help me find the ideal supply. By the way, may all of you be blessed on this 7,7,07 day (uh oh, more supersillioussuperstition)

300w FSP Green
330w Seasonic S12 I'm probably the last person to be recommending PSU's to somebody, but I've heard good things about the Fortron Green and Seasonic is Seasonic. I don't think a socket 754 AGP based system is going to need much more power than either of those can provide.

Those look pretty good, though a think something closer to a 18 amp per rail, two rails would make me more comfortable for her upgrade in, say, the future. But I might get it anyways!

Ah yes, a Corsair would be nice, but rich for my wallet. Someone in another forum has an Enermax Noisetaker 470, I don't know if I'll beat anybody else to buying it though. I don't know if it has the connectors I'd want, but the specs are close to what would be nice.

Probably.
I don't recall there being anything in the documentation that wasn't already on the box.
