Default Help me choose one of these

if possible. It turns out that PSU was the most difficult component to choose for my new rig. There are many reasons for that :
1. Availability. I wanted a Corsair but no Corsair PSUs here.
2. Price (huge prices as you will see below).
3. Features (not all specs can be found easily).

What I want (in that order) is a PSU that
1. has 500W-700W of power,
2. has long cables as my case is a home server case,
3. is modular,
4. works as silent as possible,
5. 2 pci-e would be fine but I guess most of the 500+ PSUs already fulfills this wish.

What I can get (they are overpriced but those are the ones that I can afford and close to what I want (listed above)) are below. The prices (tax included) are the final prices (no MIRs here) :

Seasonic M-12 500W --> $203
Seasonic M-12 600W --> $248 (S12 (not modular) version $227)
Seasonic M-12 700W --> $280 (s12 650W (not modular) version $248)

Silwerpower bluelightning 600w ($164, I know this one is not modular but I've just read a favorable review and it's the cheapest of all)

be quiet! Dark Power PRO, BQT P6-PRO-530W ($170, this is also cheaper than the rest but I'm not sure about be quiet and I rally would like to have a 600+)
be quiet! Dark Power PRO, BQT P6-PRO-600W ($235)

Enermax Liberty 620 W PSU ATX V2.2 20+4 PIN ($265) (oos)
Enermax Infiniti 650W DXX PSU ($280) (oos)

(OOS : Out of stock, but I'm sure they'll be available soon and probably the 720W Enermax JG reviewed will be added but I think it will be over $300)

I can also find Silverstone PSU but none are modular, although if anything that fit the other conditions I can think of buying a Silverstone too.

Thanks all.

Figure out what Silverstone models are available. All the other power supplies you listed don't do anything for me and are mediocre at best. I don't think I could recommend anything from that list.

TT Toughpower 700 isn't available?
It fulfills all your requests.

Or Antec NeoHE 500/550?

But what do you want to power with 700W?

PS. I know your pain about price. Here are the same, but at least we have almost all good brands.

Read the reviews.

Dark Power
Seasonic M12 700W

Well, the M12 is fine if you want to pay a premium for it. It's just not worth it to me, there are other power supplies just as good for less money.

Overpriced and it runs warm.

You'll notice it's not "Jonny Recommended" so why hassle?

madmat's primary criticism of the darkpower was that it's expensive and that it's not available at all in the US.

Quote:
The Dark Power Pro 600 is a really nice unit when you're not hung up on the price, the performance is pretty good up to the point of approaching 50C and even then it only loses under 2 watts of power. The 12V rails sagged from 12.3 volts to 11.8 from test 1 to test 5 but that's going from a 2A load to a 20A load and is still within spec. The ripple behaved itself nicely, never exceeding 50mV on the 12V rail under the worst conditions and the other rails also stayed well within spec.
so it's not really "mediocre" at all, is it?

It is to me. I don't see anything special about it for the high price tag.
