|
Most good multi rail PSUs over 600w put out 17amps or 18amps per rail. The top end units seem to max at 18amps in fact. Other than the single rail units are there any *multi* rail PSUs that put out 19+amps per rail? I'd like to collect a list of them if there are any.

Only ones I can think of right now are the Enhance 1kW ENP-6610G with 12v@ 35Ax2, PC P&C 1kW at 18A+18A+36A, and the Seventeam 1kW with 18A+18A+18A+26A.

Not terribly helpful because I can't remember the model but when I was checking out power supplies recently I remember at least one that stated 22A on at least one 12V rail (probably Max).
Even some of the ones that have rated rails are not limited. In Jonny's review of the Seasonic M12-700 he pointed out that there were only two sources of the 12V despite it showing 4 rails at 18A each. I am not sure if they are all linked in drawing current or if one is limited and all the remaining amps are on the other (IE one 18 A limited going to the MB and the other 48 A being split as required through the other three rails allowing more than 18A on a rail as long as all three do not excced 48) |

http://www.enermaxusa.com/ Look at the specs of the Liberty series, 400, 500 & 620W.
400 has 30A combined, 20A per rail. 500 has 32A combined, 22A per rail. 620 has 36A combined, 22A per rail.

It just depends on how the rails are split up. If you have a five rail 450W PSU, you probably aren't going to have 18A per rail.

![]() Anyway, I'm wondering if a psu like this would be better for the new G8800GTX cards that are coming out? I got this worry about not having enough amps on the 12V rails with the newer cards that will be coming out. We still dont know that the next ATI card will draw watt/amp wise. I'm trying to look ahead. Futureproffing if at all possible. I figure I'll want a G80 in the near future and maybe (although not entirely sure) maybe SLI.
