Default Is my PSU dead?

So I am playing Stalker and I go to the kitchen for a drink for a minute, when I come back my PC is off. I watch t.v. for a while and then try to turn it on but it doesn't do anything, I check to see if any of the mobo's lights are on but they aren't, so I figure something is wrong here and I am guessing its the PSU since I had replaced it two days ago for a more powerful and reliable unit. I switch to my old Xclio 450 PSU and it powers up. WTF my new, more powerful and reliable PSU burns out after two days.

I feel like I should switch back to the seasonic just to check for sure if it burned out before I RMA it, and if I RMA should I stick with the seasonic or switch to another brand. What would you do?

Any help is appreciated thanks?

Try jumping the PSU (light green wire to black) and see if it powers up. If not, RMA it to Seasonic and put it back in. Seasonic is a very good brand and getting a dud doesn't change that. Things happen and you got a bad apple, it doesn't mean that it's a reason to just dump the brand or model entirely.

yes give it a chance, and try again once or twice

but it looks like its a dud, you always get that, no matter who you buy, doesn't make any difference, some fail, looks like yours has.

I don't think there is a company who hasn't had things fail in use. try them again if it suits your needs, or if you really don't trust them anymore, look elsewhere, but as mat says, they are very good, and its just chance. it could happen with anyone

I'll give the PSU another chance and try it again, if it doesn't work I'll RMA, and as for the brand change I was thinking more in the lines of switching over to the same build unit from Corsair since they seem to have a lower failure rate, a five year warranty, 2 more amps, and costs $10 more.

Seasonic is my favorite brand I'm just a little disappointed that I got a dud, but I guess it was bound to happen some time, this will be the first RMA I make to newegg.

Thanks for your help

We'll I put the seasonic back in my rig and it powered up perfectly and was running flawlessly for about 2 to 3 days, when it mysteriously shut down again, I switched back to my XClio and it's working fine again.

I imagine the seasonic is failing so I will be sending it back to newegg for the same build from Corsair.
