Default need a stronger PSU?

I have recently moved from a overclocked AMD setup, a Sempron 3100 (1.8@2.7Ghz) with a EVGA 7800GT video card, 2Gb of OCZ ram, DFI NF4X-X motherboard running on a OCZ Powerstream 520W. No problems, ran great.

It is now a Intel C2D platform. I have gotten the E6400 up to 2.66Ghz without any problems, but not much luck after that. With the draw of the X1950XT video card in this setup am I pushing the limits of the Powerstream to get a 3.0Ghz overclock?

Absolutely not. I've got my E6400 up to 3.6ghz with a psu that has half the power of yours. Make sure you are running the 1:1 divider when you're overclocking. Your OCZ ram won't hit much over 900mhz 5-5-5-15 if you're lucky.

Thanks Hutch.

I didn't think so, just wanted to get a few opinions to make sure. I am setting up a third machine in the house and was deciding whether to buy a modest power supply for it and save the cash, or buy a new high end PSU for this setup and bump everything down the line.

Been playing around a little more and was able to go from 333 x 8 to 380 x 8 now with no problems, so I have hit 3.0 GHz now. However I have posting problems when I try 400 x 8. All the reading I have done indicates that this shouldn't be out of reach for the setup I have. Memory divider is indeed set for 1:1 ratio.

Oops im thinking of the wrong board, bump the vcore to 1.45 and bump the northbridge voltage, fsb voltage and memory voltage (try 1.9V-2.3V on the memory.)
