Early 70's.

Visited the OAK RIDGE TN, Atomic energy commission Museum? PR center.

You could run a bombing cor-ordinates program on their "mainframes"...and then they would plot the results on the screen.

Witty title like "Bombs away" if I recall.

the delay from entering to seeing the run was easily 10-20 seconds.

Still, pretty addictive for a kid.

More fun than running punch cards and waiting for a print out by a wide margin..

First game... hmmm... I recall playing some maze thingy on Rambo (Atari clone), that's probably it. I have no idea what that game was though.

The first games I remember playing are... Pitfall, Smurfs some racing game, and wait for it... ET on the Atari (dont remember which one). My aunt owned the Atari and a bunch of games, and later on the Nintendo with the soft blue/red Nintendo case) with another 200+ games... She threw out that old stuff a little over 10 years ago and regretted it when I told her how much the stuff was worth, and all her stuff was still in mint/great condition.

Being poor people, we didn't get a computer until 1997 and it was an IBM Aptiva 266MHz (32MB RAM, 4GB HD) and we paid $1,600 for it. It sits in the basement now, still all original parts (except cdrom & modem) and still works just as good now as it did then. I remember playing Duke3d, shadow warrior, TV, (apogee games), and a number of Janes Simulations titles.
