You sure you wanna use the warranty directly through Seasonic? It wil cost you more money and you're gonna lose the warranty you have by the store.

Yes, I feel I have a better chance of getting it fixed since Seasonic apparently knows about the problem (2nd post in this thread). With the retailer I feel I have to get lucky for them to even acknowledge it as a problem. What I mean is after they replaced my first one they mentioned something about coil whine even tho I haven't mentioned coil whine anywhere and also I had no coil whine at all in my pc when using it. So I don't think they had any idea what I was on about but replaced it anyway. 2nd time might be different.

Ok so I've received a new unit today (a Prime ultra gold 650w this time) and it still has the same issue I think it's time for a Corsair 650rmx or w/e, because I'm done sending psus back and forth. At this point I'm pretty sure Seasonic just uses terrible fans for their psus.

Changing the fan yourself would be a cheaper option
