Question A decent 80+ PSU within $70

My PC Build:
  • i7-2600 (95W TDP)
  • Non-gaming Motherboard (Gigabyte B75M-HD3)
  • 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 Sticks
  • 1 SDD
  • 1 7.2k RPM HDD
  • 2 USB 3.0
  • 4 USB 2.0 (incl. mouse and keyboard)
  • STRIX 1070 OC Edition (150W TDP based on Nvidia 1070)

By power supply calculators:
Load : 366W
Recommended: 450W PSU

I am not overclocking my unit at all, nor will I be using STRIX's OC mode.
I will be only using the CPU, RAM, GPU in their default clocked speeds and voltages.

My power supply preferences:
  • 450 Watts
  • 80+ or 80+ Bronze
  • 2 PCIe Connectors
  • Modular
  • Around $70

I am wondering if there are any decent 80+ (just 80+ or 80+ bronze only, not silver, gold, etc.) power supplies for my system build for around $70 or lesser.

Is there any reason why you need to be limited to just 80+ Standard or 80+ Bronze units?

You can get a Seasonic Focus 550w or G Series 550w for that price.

Philippines uses the Peso / ₱ symbol.
Likewise, ₱70 is super low.

$70 USD is roughly equal to ₱3500 which makes the only really viable units things along the lines of a Corsair VS550 or VS650

For the budget you suggested the best unit i could find were these

The Seasonic S12II-620 Bronze for $72 dollars or 3605 phillipine pesos

i did see a EVGA 600BQ but i do not know how good that unit is, your budget restricts the selection a bit..

The 600w BQ is in the Cybenetics Database.

I thought the s12ii series were demoted since you could get better units at that price range. That's why I was thinking twice on buying this unit. Is it really that bad?

As for my location, well, yes truly, the selection is very, very limited. But if I am not able to find a power supply unit by then, I would have to buy the s12ii.

I was really pertaining to $ as in dollars since I'm thinking I should be the one converting the values instead of you.

I'm hearing very bad reviews for those two units. They're pretty cheap though, roughly $55 for a 650 watt unit. I'm kinda hesitant to buy a unit with a bad review, moderate is fine though.

Also, as I have stated for my preferences:
  • 450 Watt
  • Modular

So I dont probably need a bad 650watt one. Id rather get the better 450watt one, if there is one.

Since I am skimping a bit on the budget. Getting an 80+ higher than bronze would mean more price added to it. Although, I am not saying it's bad, I am just limiting my budget for my rig.

But, if it could not be done, since if there were no good power supplies which are lower than bronze. Then it's fine, as long as it's within the budget, with a little price allowance.

Well, that's just sad.
So is there any power supplies of worth here?

I don't think I can be able to have a shipping of a power supply from ebay to philippines directly, so I'll probably be picking units locally here.
