Default Rosewill ARC series?

Does anyone have information on the new ARC series from Rosewill/Newegg?

Can't find any reviews on them or any info on the OEM, build quality, etc.

They are running some decent prices on them right now. I am considering the 450 modular which is $45-$10 rebate right now.

Looks like a ATNG, but I can't find anymore info or internal pictures.

But the Corsair CS450M is 29,99 after rebate. Don't think that the Rosewill is gonna be a better deal.

I have a 750W in the pile for review - not sure when I'll get to it.

Yeah, I was considering the CS450M, but its a whopping $30 rebate that I'd have to wait for for 6-8 weeks. Its more of a $45 vs $60 debate in my mind.

Granted, I've never had a rebate not show up, but the waiting game...I'm still waiting for 1 of 2 rebates on an XFX Pro550W that I bought back in March.

Speaking of rebates. I just received an email from Netgear's rebate center (Parago) saying they received my rebate (for a Prosafe 8-port switch I bought on May 1st). I had to click the links to check the status and it said it was invalid due to incomplete submission. What? I mailed everything like I've done a hundred+ times in my life.

So, I had to go online, do a chat session enter a bunch of info and wait for 10 minutes online just to discover why. Turns out their scanners didn't pick up the serial # from the original UPC that I sent in. The agent had to manually enter them in.

What would have happened if I didn't check the status and followed up with a chat session? I don't know. Maybe it would have been denied permanently, maybe they would have caught the error and manually entered it on their own. Who knows. Just goes to show you that rebates are not always easy money back.

yeah, I certainly like instant discounts a great deal more.

if you end up spending $60...the capstone 450 watt gold is usually priced that all the time.

Yeah, but I'd rather keep it down to ~$30 after rebate. This is just for a fairly low power HTPC. I bought a nice looking case that was a surplus from some unknown OEM. The good thing was that it came with a power supply. The bad thing was that the power supply was a Huntkey Green Star. It works, but its not Active PFC, the efficiency is relatively low, and the fan is pretty loud. I just don't trust it long term.

It also can't do its rated power, according to HWS:

Not likely that I will ever need more than 200w on this HTPC system (AMD A6-6400k using integrated video), but I don't trust the Huntkey to last and provide stable voltage, plus it runs hot and the fan is louder than it needs to be.

ARC series is from ATNG, Rosewill's old partner.
Can't find a reason to buy Rosewill in this grade, CORSAIR or EVGA is better choice/price to me.

Go Rosewill's CAPSTONE-450 with little more money is a good idea.
