Default New text ads

I have to say I'm not a fan of the new hover links infesting this forum. I understand you want to make money, but there has to be a better way than this.

If you have any better ideas, I'm sure Tazz would love to hear them.

Personally, I'm barely able to stay off welfare doing this reviewing stuff. The only reason I can is that I have two other jobs. Three, if you count the photography stuff I'm trying to start up. Thus far, I'm still losing money there.

Do you have room for another one in your club wolf

Working my ass off (especially the last months) and I started only lately to realize that if I had put all this effort and money I spent for equipment etc in another job, now I would be relaxed and with a much better job.

Thankfully I have another profession that helps me live my family but still all these work hours in reviewing are pushing me really hard the last months But damn me I like reviewing stuff... If only I could slower the pace a little bit

There's always room in my club

Actually, I turned down two job offers this year to keep doing this. One was too far away in the wrong direction for storm chasing, the other just wasn't right for me.

If I can't get my photography to make money, I might have to say yes to the next one. All bets are off though if I can finish and sell my current fantasy novel project in 2014. It's about 3/4 done but finding the time to work on it is very hard.

So, if anyone would like to share around the URL of my photography stuff and/or buy a few things I'd appreciate it

Are you sure you're talking about the right forums? I haven't seen any text ads inside the forums. Do you have an example of what you're talking about?

In fact, even the main site has had the in-line ads removed.

What text ads are you talking about? I have NO text ads on the site whatsoever.

I keep all the ads related to PSU/Comps, but don't run any text ads at all. I tried them a long time back on the main site, but haven't ever had them on the forums. Might start checking to see if you have some malware on your comp.

Nevermind. Thanks for pointing that out, Jonny. I thought it was here because JG is one of the few sites I have Adblock turned off.

Turns out that a company whose software we were evaluating slipped in a browser extension without permission. The only other guy in the office with that software is seeing the same ads. Guess who isn't getting a sale? Evaluation concluded. And malware sweep in progress.

Of all in text ads I think InfoLinks are the best both from publisher and visitor perspective, and wouldn't mind them, especially because I use AdBlock and seeing website owners make more money is always a good thing.
