Yeah, that is the same ballistic combo I listed a couple posts back.
Not excited about the memory reviews.

Doesn't sound like you need the hassle of iffy memory.

Good luck.

Yeah, I'll go with the combo of the cpu and mobo, and get the G.Skill you linked. Better to be safe. I did the math, and the price difference is negligible, so I'd rather go with the better hardware you listed. Thanks again, I really appreciate it.

Figures. I was about to order right now, and the memory (that G.Skill you'd linked) is out of stock. Any other recommendations?

MEM at $62 2133

DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000)
Timing 11-11-11-30

You can run lower, read the 4th review on the site for other CAS settings given by gskill rep.
Quote:
Glad to hear you got a great deal for the RAM. This memory is much above standard, so it is necessary to manually input settings in BIOS/EFI. Without the proper configuration, the system can only run default values of DDR3-1333. For Intel Core i3 CPUs, they are not designed for performance, but more for power saving efficiency, so most are not capable of DDR3-2133. This is not a problem, the memory kit you purchased can still be used. If you lower the DRAM Frequency to DDR3-1333, you can run ultra low timings of 7-7-7-21 or at DDR3-1600 you can run ultra low timings such as 7-8-7-24. This RAM can perform extremely well in any system that can support DDR3. The settings are flexible, so they can be adjusted according to what the rest of the computer hardware can support. Should you need any further assistance, or have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly. We can show you how this RAM fits perfectly in your new build.
I'd run at 1866 CAS 9 and 1.5 V myself.

Okay, so I have this PSU, this memory, and this mainboard/CPU combo.

Grand total with shipping, minus the promo codes: $507.96.

Sold.

Thanks again!

You miss the code on the cpu?

+ $10 off w/ promo code 0813BTS46, limited offer

Perhaps it was already rolled into the combo price and they wouldn't let you add it.
If not, call Newegg and they will adjust your bill. (always have for me anyway...)
But, yeah, that looks like a great set up.

Spending all my money like you (only on my kids college = 2x this year...ouch) or I would be tempted to buy the same.

Best regards.

My 6870 is having temper tantrums, so I contacted XFX, and they are having me RMA it. So, we shall see what comes of that.
