Question Tried a MonoPrice Cherry MX Blue, wore fingers out. Should I try a red ?

I bought a Cherry MX blue and it tore my carpel tunnel a new one. I don't like my cheap V7's feel, and I bought a Logitech K120 for a secondary machine that seems to have the right feel.

I'm thinking about just buying another one for a main keyboard, but should I give the cherry MX red's a try ? I hated to return the Blue keyboard but I had to.

I think in the end, it'll be up to going to a store and some displays ?

edit: probably should be more of wore fingers AND wrist out..

The keyswitch should not affect your wrist in any way. Are you using proper typing posture? Your wrists should be elevated, not resting on the table. If you're using a wrist rest, don't; these devices only exacerbate carpal tunnel issues.

Elevating your wrist may take more effort, but is the healthiest and fastest way to type.

That said, the Reds require about half the actuation force the Blues do (~45g vs ~85g). You'd probably bottom out the keys at first because they have less travel and don't have a tactile feedback at the actuation point, though. On the plus side, low travel + low actuation force = touch-typist paradise.

If you feel you can't do without tactile feedback, try some Browns.

Blues are not 85g switches. They're 55g. You might be thinking of greens.
