Default Spring loaded ball bearings

Seems to me that if one spring loads ball bearings axially, the rattle noise should not happen; do many fans use spring loading?

I have one of those spinner toys in which I put tungsten weights, and if I run it vertically the bearing rattles, but if I run it horizontally, so the weight keeps the balls to one side, it runs near silent.
