Arrow Enermax MaxTytan 800W Review

Quote:
Let's take a look at a new Enermax unit today. As time has gone by, it seems that this once prominent brand has gotten kind of pushed to the side as companies like EVGA, Corsair, and Seasonic have risen to prominence. But Enermax is keen to show us that they can still get the job done, and have a new flagship line of Titanium efficiency units to prove it. We'll check out the 800 watt model today and see if the competition should be worried.

Thanks for the review, great as always.

I'm afraid the link to this thread at the end is broken, though.

Well, PSU are the only component that has this ridiculously long warrantys, no other component has that.
The standard still is three years - if you are lucky.
And even here some manufacturers like Inno3D, ASROCK still don't provide either any warranty (information) or just a Year for consumer products.

And how long do you think a 20k Keysight Osciloscope thingy has Warranty?
If you guessed 3 years, you'd be right. If you'd guess 5, you'd be not wrong - because that's an option on some of their things...

So I'd not rate the warranty that highly, all the other stuff of the PSU is way more important than that...

And you don't know if the company is around in another 10 years either...
And in the past, there were some companys that went under you'd never expect them to - like Abit or EpoX...

You are right.

But the consumer will look at it this way:

- If this guys at Enermax are only giving 5Y warranty, its because they dont trust their product as much as that other brand that gives 10Y for the same price. So it must have less quality.

Sad, but true. People dont understand "our" point of view.

By the way, I was bored and did some googeling.
The Thing on the fan controller board seems to be a bit on the expensive side with around 6 if you order 1000 in a reel...
Although it seems that this chip also can control the primary side and PFC.

Most people don't want to understand, they want to believe.

Per Enermax, this unit actually has a ten year warranty. I've updated the review.

But the printed label says 5Y. What

Hopefully they realized that was a mistake...
