AX760i and AX860i by Flextronics using a DSP and the new AX760 and AX860 could be the new Seasonic SS-x50KM3 serie. |

I wonder if Corsair's previous cable kits will be compatible.
That was always my question when they first launched; is how often you'd have to re-buy. We saw with the AX1200 to AX1200i that even though the OEM was the same, a new kit was needed.

Would be interesting if the cabeling of the previous generation won't fit and the units don't have a decent OCP trip point...

The non i will be Sea Sonic, so I guess yes. The i will be like the AX1200i: Depends on the users choice.

I can hear your clenching half a world away, and it sounds unpleasant. The Seasonic made models may have OCP, like the XP1000/X1050/X1250 where it's obfuscated from normal users by a high trip-point; the Flextronics ones will most likely be configurable like the AX1200i.

AX will be marketed as single rail, since enthusiasts have voted for it. Redbeard mentioned that modular cables will be interchangable since … TX modular series maybe?

The AXi's all have the same cables as the TXM and the new HX.

1. HX520/620/650 - Old seasonic style. 2. AX650/750/850 - New seasonic style 3. HX750/850/1000/1050 - CWT/new style. We call this "Type 3" internally. 4. AX1200 - Flex style. When I took over as interim PSU PM last year, I made all the 2012 launch products go to a standard. For a couple of boring reasons, "Type 3" became the most obvious standard to use, so all the new products used it. TXM uses it. AX1200i uses it. Future modular products will use it. As a result, while the old AX1200 cables won't work with the new AX1200i, all the HX cables will. The one exception is the 24-pin connector (which is not modular on the HX series) so we're going to sell that separately and split out the kits a bit.
