Hi, i'm going to change my current power supply; currently I have an Antec 550w and I feel that i'm pushing it's limits.
My current setup is: Asus p8B WS intel i7 2600k 16GB DDR3 9x 500GB WD RAID Edition 1x DVD-ROM Nvidia GTX460 Highpoint RocketRaid 2340 (RAID adapter) 3x Nexus 120mm fan Now I'm between Corsair HX750 (122 euros) vs Cooler master silent pro M2 720 (104 euros). I need a silent and stable psu. Thanks for your time. |

Your current PSU is not even close to having its limits pushed. That's a 150-160w card and a 95 CPU. Add in 10w per HDD and you're still under 400w.
The question of which Antec PSU does come up, if it's a junk-cap special than replacing it isn't a bad idea. Between those two PSUs, I'd take the HX750. Given wider options I'd likely pick something else though. |

Thanks for your help bobnova; i'm open to new recommendations.
The key for the change is that I'm experiencing some very random BSOD during render stages; and to isolate the problem I'm thinking on change the PSU. |

What model Antec PSU and what year did you buy it in?

It's an Antec Neo HE550. I don't know the year.

OK in that case you may think about a new PSU. But not because your actual PSU is not sufficient but rather pretty old...
But if you buy a new PSU, stick with a 550W, that's more than enough for a single GPU and single GPU system. It's a waste of money to buy a 750W in this case... |
