Had. They had inventory. They must now be at the point where they do not have inventory.

To my knowledge, BFG hasn't given any control to any third party (yet). And the support for BFG was always done by a 3rd party company that does support for a half a dozen other companies, so nobody in support has been let go due to BFG's condition.

Hmm.... Seems that removing the part of the news post that I was responding to and then quoting me out of context is now leading people to report that Nvidia denied BFG Fermi allocation. I never said this. I said that the problem was not GTX200, Phobos or Deimos and that the problem was largely GTX400. To my knowledge, Nvidia didn't deny BFG Fermi. Next to Evga, BFG was Nvidia's best U.S. partner. Although Fermi allocation was/is very slim, it doesn't behoove Nvidia to deny allocation to BFG. There's more to it than that so people need to stop speculating so much.

I guess this explains the constant sales of BFG power supplies at NCIX. They are liquidating stock. I was going to buy one for a friend. What does everyone think of snagging a GS 550 for 50 bucks (in Canada). Seems to be the best psu for the price, even if I only get the 1 year warranty from ncix.

Even at that price I'd grab an OCZ StealthXStream 500w.
OCZ, in my experience, is very consistent with Rebates. And I only had one issue with not getting one back; but after the allowed time frame, I just called up OCZ and they sent me another check. And I got it the second time around.

I've probably sent in a good 20 Rebate forms for OCZ products (RAM, PSU, & HSF) and it's a better PSU than the GS 550 though not anything astounding. You'll get a cheaper price in the end and a longer warranty.

Well, no surprise here, today I received my original ES-800 (unrepaired) and the same form letter mentioned earlier by mrestine. I need a comparable replacement so I can add up and give the BBB my 'disputed amount'. Gotta love more paperwork.

Thanks!

You do realize filing a complaint with the BBB about a warranty repair from a company that is out of business is....ummm.....more than useless, right?

Well, if you put it like that, Yes.

Frustration of the moment, what can I say.

Interesting, albeit odd:

(and I'm guessing the explanation for the English/French box is that it was destined for the Canadian market)

How could he not know that English/French packaging is REQUIRED by law for Canadian retail???

/facepalm

Interesting that someone at the manufacturing level leaked photos of a product that was never released. You can see how the foam inside the box was hand cut, so it's clearly not anything mass production grade.
