The Whisper M is WAAAAAAAAAAY better than the S12II series. More modern layout, better components, more efficient, quieter, a lot better protections, modular, more warranty... The S12II basically loses in every aspect compared with the Whisper. Just get it.

Old vs young. It's isn't fair.

Seasonic 2010 platform group regulated design vs today DC to DC CWT is apple and orange.

I can still say this even if my Seasonic S12 Energy Plus 80 from 2006 is still alive in my parent basement.

And who in their right mind would choose the Seasonic over the Bitfenix??

Someone who is a lot less informed than a bunch of dorky electronics/PSU enthusiasts such as we are.

People aren't idiots for asking, quite the opposite. We've all had to learn this stuff at some point, and it all begins with asking questions.

And, of course, I concur with the previous posters, the Whisper M outclasses the venerable S12-II by quite a margin. Get the Bitfenix.

If Seasonic go for Focus. S12II is clearly outdated (despite beeing rather popular in some markets). Whisper M is a great choice.

Yes, I meant someone with a bit more knowledge than the average human being...
