Default Prebuilt PC PSU

Don't know much about PSU's, but heard this was the best place to get PSU advice. Recently bought a prebuilt desktop that came with a Allied 500 watt PSU model number is SL-8500BTX.

Based on reviews it looks like something I'd want to replace before my warranty is up.

CPU i7-8700K
GPU GTX 1070 8GB
MB Z370-A PRO
RAM APACER 16GB DDR4
SSD APACER AS340 240GB
HDD SEAGATE ST1000DM010 1TB

Assuming my PSU is subpar, any suggestions for a better one?
Don't plan on overclocking right now, but upgrades could be possible in the future. Also, I live in Canada so I don't think store availability should be a problem.

Yeah. That's a pretty bad PSU. I didn't think they were still being made even.

Oh yeah, that's a turd alright.

If it were me, I'd look at the usual bastards and just pick one.

Corsair TX550M or EVGA SuperNOVA G3 550W are good choices after rebate.

Canada, Excellent maple syrup!

Sorry got off topic.... Good Lord... they still make Allied Crap in prebuilt machines

The Mask is right a TX-M is great price.

I did find it at Amazon.ca for 89.99 but no Mail in rebate required.

https://www.amazon.ca/Corsair-CP-902...+Series+TX550M

The EVGA one is a better price at Newegg.ca

If you want there is a Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 550 for just 5 more Canadian dollars

https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Produc...89&ignorebbr=1

Or if you are on a tight budget a Corsair CX550 is available for 55 Canadian Dollars after Mail In Rebate (It is not quiet but a good decent budget unit)
