Also, I said it on the last fanless unit; but that heatsink just doesn't look like it was making good contact with the thermal pad, but what's your take on it?

Also, that ripple was god awful. I'd put that in the bad, it's really sitting on spec. So it's definitely worse than the Mediocre category IMO.

Still though; that Vreg was pretty impressive. I bet with some proper cooling it would have just been a smidge tighter.

Seventeam should flip that efficiency though, cause it's plain backwards.
87% Efficient from 20-80% load would be amazing. Even if it was 82% at full load.

It's not really backwards, minor rail load in progressive tests is small, which ups the efficiency quite a bit. With proportional load it would be down to more frequently seen curve.

Still, value rating pretty much sums this unit up for me. Non modular, poor sleeving, non DC-DC, yet still more expensive than Platinum Kingwin/SF?

Read the Chiphell review before this and was really impressed by the excellent efficiency and the tight voltage regulation on all rails, they had the ripple at half spec on all rails, nothing to brag about but also nothing dramatic.. then I saw this straight line drawing contest for kids with Downs.. what could have happened to effectively double the ripple for all rails on this review sample?

ps. this unit needs to drop >80$ in price and solve that ripple issue before it becomes marginally interesting to anyone with live brain cells..

pps. sexy review Wolf!

Not sure. I offered them another shot via a second sample, but they didn't feel it was necessary. So, I'm moving on to the next review.

Sorry 'bout that Wolf, early morning man. Saw Johnny post it and didn't think twice. I noticed your writing style, so i was kinda lost in that regard.

Seventeam used to sell this unit at $89.9 and SilverStone now charge it for $199.9??

Who said it hasn't DC-DC?

You can see the VRM cards from the solder side.

Sigh...

Yes it does. Crappiness of deal @$200 does get in the way of facts.

PS. Hotlinking not allowed. You can see pic in the review.
