Poor sleeving job. And if it lacks wire guard - short circuits incoming! Baffling that budget lines got this right and supposedly premium units do not. Such a shame, as it otherwise would be a very promising unit. |

I have to wonder about the size as well; they easily could have made the first part of the EMI filter on a polar PCB to the main one (or even integrated it by the looks.)
The design choice easily added another 1.5" if not more to the length of the unit which seems down right silly. |

You can use a 140mm fan in a 145mm casing; so better cooling wouldn't be the thing. Especially since with elongated casings you're gonna find air flowing into a part of the casing without components and thus just exiting out the back.

It does look like someone designed the electronics to fit a specification and someone else designed the case and appearance separately.
