Default Piezo Capsule Igniter

Hello all,

This is my first post here, so please go easy on me. I will do my best to make sure I'm using the correct terminology for these parts, but I'm not 100%.

I have a barbecue grill and the spark tip wire became torn and disconnected from the sparker in the unit. I have obtained a replacement cord and spark tip already. I am told that the unit itself is called a piezo capsule igniter. It has the letters "CIK" written on the top of the unit. Here is an image of the broken item that I am looking to replace:

I have found several versions of this online and available for purchase from electrical manufacturers, but most of them originate from China and I would have to pay an exorbitant freight charge. Here is an image of one of the compatible items I've seen:

If anyone has any suggestions on where to obtain this item for a reasonably cost, I would be very grateful.

Thank you for your time and assistance in advance.

What kind of grill is it? They don't sell the part separately?

What is the shipping from China? Usually if they use parcel post, the shipping is only a couple dollars.

Sadly, they don't. They want to sell me the entire assembly that it connects to, for a significant price.

The factories that produce the component will send it via freight and the basic pricing, even for a sample runs quite a bit of money. That's why I'm hoping to find someone that either knows where to get one or a more local solution. These items tend to be priced between 50 cents and 1.50 in bulk.

"Quite a bit of money" doesn't translate into USD for me.

So the assembly itself runs for about 42$ plus shipping and handling.

The freight charge for the individual piece from one of the factories costs 50$ + import fees.

Yeah. Definitely. I'd pay for something reasonable. It's too bad...

For that price, I would go to Ace, Lowes or Home Depot, buy a standard igniter kit for a Weber, Charbroil, etc. and modify your current grill to work with it.
