I asked this before in some other forums and they speculate that its around 200 watts. The local tech guy in my neighborhood says that its 600 watts. So I went here to ask for your advice.
My specs are Asrock Extreme 7 Gen 3 Sapphire 7950 OC 3gb Corsair Vengeance 8gb forgot the specific model but its the red one. Seagate 500gb 7200 rpm (forgot the model) I already know the wattage of my monitor and speakers. My power supply is a thermaltake tought power 1200 watts Yeah i know my PSU is way overkill but thats for future expansions. Right now I want to know how much watts this'll take if i just browse the net and type since thats what my work involves and thats what i usually do. |

You have a system with no CPU ? Nice! I'll assume you're using a 65W Core. At your typical workload your desktop will be using ~120W.
Could be higher if you're OCing your CPU. During gaming you'll be using over 200W. If this is your whole system I don't think you'll ever see it using 300W . So yes, your PSU is a bit overkill. |

Wait to set things straight, does this mean that my psu draws that much power from the wall? I just want to clarify cause my siblings and I now share my dad's house and plan to bill me for my computer use. I'm an at home worker. |

That was my first guess.

you can roughly add 20% to those values. But a kill-a-watt or some more precise equipment will give you more correct values. |

I think that's fair.
