I think we would need someone to professionally review cheapo Latino PSUs. In Mexico there's a brand named Eagle Warrior that sells some inexpensive, but very questionable PSUs, and are "Mexican Made" (As far as a friend of mine tells me, I don't think those are 100% made in Mexico.), and it is not the only one. Some day I'll save some money, buy one and send it to you guys to give it the JonnyGuru treatment.

I leave the links to the brands:
Eagle Warrior PSUs
GameFactor PSUs
Acteck Edge Systems PSUs

For being Mexican brands, they use names on English as pure marketing.

Eagle Warrior has no reason to build in Mexico. They don't have the tariff issues Brazil has. The EW500 on their website is a rebadged SAMA.

The cases may be made in Mexico. Even the Taiwan and China companies have chassis factories in Mexico because of shipping costs for such large parts (very few fit in a container).

I know someone that worked for a company that had three of their chassis team guys killed in a restaurant while taking a break from visiting a chassis factory in MX. Between that story and the food poisoning I got in Cancun last year, I will probably never go back to Mexico ever again.

Acteck is all shit. They should get shut down by the government for being super shitty.

I'm sorry to hear that story about those guys being killed on a restaurant while resting.

And the food poisoning... in Cancun? That's surprising.

Like I told you before about Eagle Warrior, it didn't crossed my mind thinking they made the PSUs in Mexico, and you really proved my idea. In the end, that's what is available here, and the reason I'm in this page, to learn how to differentiate good PSUs against bad. Yeah, we don't have the same tariffs like Brazil, but we still have quite big taxes on imported products above $50 USD on its value ($100 USD if the new NAFTA comes into play next year.), and the Dollar-Peso gap is still big.

And yeah... I won't deny that Acteck is shit.

It was Montezuma's revenge disguised as food poisoning. I love salad bars. Ate there every day. But romaine lettuce absorbs a lot of water. The same water you're not supposed to drink. You can wash the lettuce with clean water. But there's still ground water IN the lettuce.
