Western Digital bought HGST and after that Western Digital had to make sure Toshiba also would produce 3.5 inch consumer hard drives, otherwise they had a duopoly with Seagate. So they did sell some knowledge to Toshiba.

I admit I didn't do that much research, but I decided to go with enterprise for my drive, I got in an Intel DC S3500 SSD and a Western Digital RE4 HDD.

I see WD still sell a RE 2TB drive for around $170 and I see cost isn't an issue for you.
