This is for sure going back:

This is tough because I really liked a lot of older games (when they came out) but I would not enjoy them today so I think I'll give two lists; out dated games and modern games:
1) doom (original) 2) duke nukem (really dislike it today but back around 1996 or so it was golden) 3) half life (I want to try the free remake that recently game out); this is a game I can still enjoy though not as much as when I originally played it 4) bg2 (still very enjoyable) 5) descent was kind of neat when it first came out (some others - unreal (still enjoyable) wolfenstein (the first one is too old) total annilation (was great); the first command and conquer) - 1) king bounty legend (2007?) 2) total wars (they are all good; but some better than others) 3) dragon age (but didn't really like the combat) 4) mass effect series 5) witcher 2 (the last fps I played that I really liked was farcry and before that wolfenstein enemy territory; oh yea and metro2033 was fantastic but short) (some other games I enjoyed - titan quest; age of wonders shadow magic; fallout 3; never winter nights (1 and 2) !!; thief 1 and 2; system shock 2; deep space 1 and 2!!) |

Great topic:
1) Civilization (1 and then 2 had me hooked, and I have played all of the subsequent editions) 2) SimCity 3) Doom 4) Half Life 2 5) Diablo If we went by how much time I have spent on a game, the list would look like: 1) World of Warcraft 2) The Civilization series 3) Elder Scrolls Oblivion 4) Elder Scrolls Skyrim 5) Doom and its successors (Doom 2, Quake, etc) |

This is going to have a bit of a slant towards RPG.
1. Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind 2. Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of Betrayer 3. Civilization V (with all expansions, because vanilla game isn't nearly as good) 4. Counter-Strike 5. Bloodline Champions |
