Cool, methinks I shall grab it whilst I'm here, then.

No dice, they were out of unopened stock at the 'Vegas store, so I'll just watch Newegg and such for a good sale over the next week or so.

FWIW amazon XFX HD 6870 900M $166.49, HD 6770 $109.99
newegg XFX HD 6770 $119.99- 15 MIR with DIRT 3, or $132.55- 20 with DIRT 3
XFX HD 6850 $157.55

will not hurt to check tomshardware for "best deals" or HARDocp forums.

How is the 7770 in terms of priceerformance? If it's decent, would it be a decent upgrade from my 4850? I run my monitor at 1920x1080, and also sometimes duplicate gaming to my tv (my fiancee likes to watch me game sometimes), which is also 1080p. I also play Blu-rays on my TV via my computer.

Value wise, the HD6870 still holds the crown
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150561

For a 1080p experience; GTX 560 Ti or HD 6870 are definitely the Price v Performance leaders.

According to tomshardware GPU hierarchy chart the 7770 is one tier better than n HD 4850.
An HD 6850 two tiers better.
An HD 6870 is three tiers up.

See tomshardware "best graphic cards August 2012" last catagory.

HD7770 is more like 1.5 Tiers above the HD4850 since it's faster than an HD4890 but has much higher overclocking headroom and uses dramatically less power.

7770 is just slightly slower than 6850, so quite a bit faster than 4850.

In between you have 5770/6770.

EDIT: ahhhh, Tom's put 5770 and 550Ti on the same tier as, say, GTX 460 768MB. FAIL of them.
