With appropriate cooling, they shouldn't die any-time soon. They're definitely not great.

I'd rather see Samxon or Teapo as the "low end" option.
Capxon & OST are not horrid options either.

Since we're on caps... what's the consensus on Kemet?

Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing those brands either...I know CapXon aren't exactly spectacular but I've seen them last 30k+ hours covered in dust in some FSP units. Hopefully this 120mm fan will do the job. Guessing this thing would get between 77-83% efficiency?

I haven't heard anything about Kemet caps

I've only seen Kemet's as tantalum caps and not your standard elec's. So I don't really have an idea.

I've seen some news about a NEC-Tokin acquisition and remembered a guy here using them to recap old Dell/HP server units, among all sorts of other electronics.. Farnell has a huge range on offer.
