WMP on W7 is pretty good in my opinion.

Foobar2000 for audio, Media Player Classic Home Cinema (MPC-HC) for video, VLC for the rare video that won't play with the stuff embedded inside MPC-HC

No need for additional codecs packs and crap. The only thing I probably ever install would be AC3Filter (better support for digital out and channel mapping, equalizer etc) and RealAlternative (for rm videos)

I like to used the Window media player and VLC player which have better quality.

vlc for me too..its a great player fore these reasons:
1.plays most of the video formats
2.fastest one to start,but the latest vesion is a bit slow(not complaining)
3.its free
